The Honor of Kings esports scene seems to be undergoing an interesting development, with reports indicating that leading esports organizations are converging on the Southeast Asia region to vie for supremacy in an imminent HoK event.
Recently, a former Wild Rift professional player and HoK popular content creator in Thailand named Ongsa “KingSauce” Arun sparked rumors regarding by disclosing a roster of heavyweight teams who have finalized their lineups for an untitled competition which set to unfurl in Indonesia.
Interestingly, Kings also mentioned that global powerhouses such as T1, Talon Esports, G2, Team Liquid and Team Spirit will be there as well. However, whether they intend to forge entirely new squads for the Indonesian battleground or simply partake in the fray remains undisclosed.
Aside from these international organizations, it comes as no shock to find prominent Indonesian outfits such as Bigetron Esports and Boom Esports among the lineup. Bigetron’s CEO, Edwin Chia, has been actively scoured social media platforms for professional HoK players since weeks ago, while Boom Esports teased the completion of its HoK squad last week.
As the curtains rise on the stage of the 2024 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this summer, the HoK arena emerges as a beacon, drawing the gaze of mobile esports fans in SEA. The hype surrounding its esports scene has even ensnared the interest of professionals from its competitors, eager to experience the thrill of HoK themselves.
Yet, SEA isn’t the only one who is anticipating for the emergence of the global HoK esports circuit. From the depths of Eastern Europe to the expanse of MENA, others are also priming themselves for forthcoming competition, scouring the globe for prodigious talents to bolster their ranks.
