No money, no stay? A low-cost accommodation guide for TI11 fans in Singapore

Singapore is one of the most expensive places to stay, especially when it comes to hotels. It’s true. So if you’re coming to Singapore for The International 11, you might find it daunting to search for affordable accommodations near the action. Well, don’t worry. Ulti.Asia has you covered.

We’ve scoured the island of Singapore to bring you some of the cheapest, accessible and the best bang for your buck accommodations. We have also made sure they are conveniently located near both Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre and Singapore Indoor Stadium.

  1. Beary Best Kampong Glam

The starting price for a room is S$92 per night.

64 Arab Street, Bugis, Singapore, Singapore, 199761

This first place is the most expensive on this list and it might sound like its owner never grew out of their We Bare Bears phase, but that is not the case (hopefully). This establishment has free Wifi, 24-hour check-in, close proximity to attractions like Singapore Flyer and upholds the ‘SG Clean’ standard, adhering to high standards of public hygiene. Basically, you can expect more than the bear minimum.

Beary Best Kampong Glam is 350m from Bugis MRT station, one stop away from Promenade. It is also three stops away from Stadium.

  1. Wanderloft Capsule Hotel

The starting price for a room is S$52 per night.

49A South Bridge Road, Clarke Quay, Singapore, 058681

Wanderloft Capsule Hotel is in the middle of Singapore’s nightlife scene if you’re interested in some post-Playoffs celebration (or drowning your sorrows). When you feel like crashing, you can enjoy free Wifi, laundry facilities and even a microwave for a midnight snack.

This hotel is 219m from Clarke Quay MRT station, three stops away from Esplanade, and five stops away from Stadium.

  1. Bluewaters Pods @ Bugis

The starting price for a room is $53 per night.

2 Tan Quee Lan St, Bugis, Singapore, Singapore, 188091

Yes, another pod hotel. Staying in a personal pod like a caterpillar may not be incredibly appealing, but this hotel is situated in the heart of the city centre. Think cosy rather than cheap. They offer laundry service and free Wifi. Bluewaters Pods is also near Bugis Junction if you feel like doing some shopping.

Bluewaters Pods is a short walk away from Bugis MRT station, nowhere near water.

  1. K Hotel Aliwal (Premier)

The starting price for a room is S$69 per night

10 Aliwal Street, Kampong Glam, Bugis, Singapore, 199903

K Hotel Aliwal is a nice place, with clean sheets and white walls. Yup, that’s all there is. It’s back to basics for this place.

What it has going for it is its location. You can save one transport costs by walking about 15 minutes to the TI venues. Or if you want to take the train, the nearest is Nicoll Highway MRT station, which gives you access to much of the rest of the island.

  1. K Space Inn 14

The starting price for a room is S$60 per night.

14A/B Circular Road, Clarke Quay, Singapore, 049370

If you’re into space, this is the place. Unlike K Hotel, which is down to earth, K Space Inn 14 brings you right up there. You might find it slightly tacky with the astronauts and the halo lights but hey, different strokes for different folks.

These are probably the only space pods with free Wifi and a 24-hour front desk. Who wouldn’t jump at that opportunity?
This hostel is 323m from Clarke Quay MRT station. Be warned, the illusion of intergalactic travel might be shattered by the partying below in the dead of night. But that might just mean you’re in bed too early.
